The Parson’s Green terror attack.

As you’re no doubt aware London has been subjected to another terrorist attack, an explosive device placed by the doors of a train during a busy period. The attack would have been quite effective had everything gone to plan, which thankfully it did not. The device used was quite primitive and I believe it ended up detonating earlier than intended. I’m also surprised that nobody was killed in the ensuing panic.

We only have to look at the blitz in London to know how deadly a human stampede can be in an underground station. The metropolitan police quickly apprehended the suspect. The bomb itself only injured people leaving a few with burns which is better than the alternative. The device was contained inside a bucket stored within a Lidl bag which it barely managed to destroy.

A Reddit user was quoted saying

Marvel at the durability of Lidl plastic bags which are powerful enough to withstand the explosion of a bomb. German engineering.

As usual the English are already making jokes about the situation. Even I must admit this is like the worst terrorist attack ever which is actually a good thing. I think many Londoners share this sentiment. We’re bored of this shit now. I wouldn’t say it’s become a norm but it is definitely something we have come to expect every once in a while. A sad reality and result of conflicts in the Middle East.

On the other side I’ve seen pictures of London mayor Siddique Khan holding a Lidl bag on the tube with a caption ‘we know who really did it.’ On one side I’m actually happy with our response to the attacks against our city and on the other I’m disappointed by things like that. That doesn’t seem to represent a majority of us but still a fairly significant portion.

On the terror attacks and being sick of them, I often hear of some incident and turn check the BBC with a reaction something like the image below.

I do understand that solving the issues caused in the Middle East and their repercussions here at home will take decades, the problem isn’t going to just go away. I can only hope we become more effective at preventing these attacks without that leading to further breaches of our rights and privacy by the wicked witch of Westminster.

Looking at the attack itself and the results there’s nowhere near the kind of tension in the air that there was after the previous attacks, back then I could pop a packet of crisps on a bus and people probably would have hit the deck or ran for their lives. This attack is mediocre in comparison. I doubt ISIS will even want to claim responsibility for these. Sometimes the way they operate reminds me of franchise restaurants, like the Subway of terrorism.

Another concerning phenomena is the use of acid to attack people, it seems to have grown far more widespread suddenly. In a rare and useful move the government is pushing for harsher laws for those who attack others with acid and I believe considering a database/licensing for the purchase of acid, a move which to me seems quite reasonable.

Shooting someone, stabbing someone or beating someone sure I can understand. These are pretty par of the course but to throw acid at someone implies a special kind of hatred or callousness. You don’t kill them but essentially ruin their entire lives even if they’re not blinded by it. Those people deserve life sentences. Speaking of stabbing the number of knife related incidents seem to have gone up as well as racially related attacks.

You get those moments where you think the world has gone mad, where you’d rather not turn on the news because all you’ll hear is depressing shit from home or some other part of the world that their is nothing in you can do about. I don’t tend to ignore these things even if they are uncomfortable because I like to stay informed but I can understand people who do.

It’s a relief that this guy was such a shit terrorist his device could barely destroy a Lidl bag or we would need body bags right now.

London attack

I haven’t written a post about any current event for a long time, unfortunately the one time I do it’s a terrorist attack. Thankfully nobody I know was harmed, very few harmed at all. I imagine that’s no condolence for the families of those killed yesterday. Fortunately officers managed to lay him the fuck out before he could kill anybody else.

The sun came up today and London continued as it would on any other day. It’s just a shame that we live in a world where this sort of thing is a possibility. That said Trump taking Khan’s comments out of context… unfortunately we live in a world where President Trump is also a possibility. I’m too focused on cleaning the shit in my own backyard to offer my condolences to those who did not vote for him. At least your President was voted for.

In the wake of this attack I am left with many questions. Questions about the nature of the attack itself, what new measures will be put in place under ‘national security.’

Then there’s Facebook, the filter which I personally find half assed as a show of unity. Solidarity just a click away but hey whatever makes people feel better. Then there’s the whole report yourself as safe feature, never seen this one before. The idea in principle is a good one but if you’re unemployed and from Watford I know you’re safe.

I also feel for the Muslim people of this country who will suffer abuse as a result of this attack. It’s a virtual certainty, just as Europeans suffered abuse after the leave vote. I haven’t really checked the news since, I’m waiting for more information to come out regarding the perpetrator, sources to be corroborated etc. News that I did read in the immediate aftermath was chaotic to say the least. I’ve created a terrorism category for this blog, I hope this is the only post under it.

I wish the injured a speedy recovery and my thoughts are with the families of those killed. As attacks go this is minor but to the families of those killed it’s life changing. I commend the actions of the officer who swiftly dealt with the threat and prevented greater loss of life.

I’m sure you’ve all heard of the events in France by now. A coordinated series of terrorist attacks were carried out in Paris leaving some dead and many injured. I’m not sure if my ex is still in Paris but I haven’t seen her name on the list of those who were killed.

No posts on social media regarding her passing or being caught it the attacks. I have no way of knowing at the moment and either way there is nothing I can do. My heart goes out to those people who were out trying to enjoy their evening when these animals launched their attack.

I think it’s important to remember in this time that not all Muslims are terrorists. The guy that works in the market or the gas station isn’t your enemy, our enemy. In part I hope that we will organise a response that involves eviscerating these animals once and for all.

The sad part is that this will only perpetuate violence. How do you fight an enemy without honour or humanity without sinking to his level? There is no correct answer. All I can say is I am angered and saddened by the events in Paris.

I see humans but no humanity.

ISIS, UK Govt dealing with extremism.

Now I don’t usually get into politics, wars, religion and things like that unless I’m outwardly chucking salt but this time it is different, this is important. I posted this up on Facebook and there was little to no attention paid to it which is sad because it means my peers aren’t educated enough to understand the far-reaching implications of this issue, and if they are unable or more so unwilling to understand and engage these issues we’re already fucked. Mine is a generation of apathy for which we may all pay the price one day in the future.

Recently my Government proposed laws to bar people who fought for the Islamic State from returning to Britain. Many people are outraged and I understand that sentiment, a lot of us are angry and even I myself was swept into this line of thought. It does seem like a good idea when in fact it is far from it. People, including myself, have reacted emotionally and not rationally to this issue. When I actually stand back and realize what a terrible idea this is I cannot help but wonder if this is an attempt by the current government to gain the popular vote for the upcoming elections or just a misguided attempt to deal with a problem that by all accounts has grown out of control.

So where to begin? Let’s start simple shall we?
By not allowing these people to return home because we assume they are terrorists we are casting aside due process and the right to be innocent until proven guilty. If we allow this to happen we are directly contributing to the erosion of our civil liberties/rights. I know many would argue that terrorists don’t have civil/human rights but there’s the rule of all or none. If we forfeit the rights of others then we are in effect forfeiting our own. It’s all well and good when it is a suspected terrorist or someone who is suspected to have engaged in war crimes but what happens when it is one of our own? When the individual is in fact innocent or there a case of mistaken identity? By that time it will not matter because we’ve discarded the processes put in place to protect us, by then we’re already screwed. And that aside, governments have never abused their power before right?

These people are citizens of the United Kingdom, in being citizens they are subject to the laws of our nation. We cannot just ignore or export the problem, they were born and raised in the UK and it is our responsibility to deal with them appropriately. Also a lot of people here maintain an attitude towards those living in ISIS held territory that pertains to ‘They aren’t us, fuck them, let them fend for themselves.’ If you open your eyes, aside from skin colour and religion they are you. Those people are human beings and we have a responsibility to them, nobody deserves to have to put up with this sort of shit. Many people maintain the simplistic view that our money should not be spent feeding, housing and clothing these individuals in one of many wonderful prison facilities across the land but if that is the case then what do they propose we do allow them to run around in their sandbox to rape and murder at will? I’d much rather they be locked away where they can be of no further to anyone.

A lot of people also argue against attempts at radicalization/rehabilitation, many of them not realizing that a lot of the individuals who travelled overseas originally did so to fight against an opressive regime. Others did leave with the intention of fighting for ISIS but when they got there it wasn’t what the believed it would be, such is the folly of idealists. Many have tried to return home, few people actually have the stomach for war let alone outright genocide of a people. That isn’t to say we should feel sorry for them or they should not be punished, they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of our laws. Again, we should deal with our problem. When you do not allow these individuals to return home they becomes stateless and in making them stateless we create much more than an individual who make a huge fucking mistake, we create a desperate situation that can only lead to more violence. We create an enemy of the state with no other option but to fight against us.

Even without considering those points allowing them to return home and monitoring their activities would provide valuable intelligence in our fight against ISIS. Another main point of this post is that there are many more intelligent ways of dealing with our current situation. Barring them from reentering the United Kingdom is the absolute wrong answer. If this isn’t a misguided attempt at dealing with our problem and rather an attempt to gain the popular vote then our leadership is even more incompetent than I ever imagined, dangerously so. The fact that many of my contemporaries don’t understand or are indifferent to my points about civil liberties is saddening. It basically means we’re already waiting to get fucked. I can understand people being angry and reacting emotionally to what is a barbaric and desperate situation but what I cannot understand nor forgive is the indifference, that is worse than the stupidity. That indifference has allowed some of the greatest evils in history.

People are stupid, our government more so and I have very little faith in my generation. Either way this is our problem and it’s about time we dealt with it, intelligently and precisely.

David ‘1984’ Cameron.

DC
Hello again readers, today I’m going to be writing about a special individual. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom: David Cameron. By all accounts a complete wanker. I once saw a wiki-leaks cable where the Central Intelligence Agency said something along the lines of  ‘An ineffective and indecisive leader.’ Good old CIA bang on, as per usual. If the NSA is reading this please pass a message onto the CIA for me? You didn’t have to spend all that money and use all that technology when I could have told you this after the first year of his reign as glorious overlord of the British government. Now usually this posh wanker is politically impotent and I really can’t say he’s done anything for anyone in his time as PM but his latest stunt would make Hitler, Stalin and Mao so proud.

1292856439111
You may remember my ‘dey turk our porn’ post from a while back, well this is the evolution of the bullshit we thought that we as a nation had put to rest. Cameron is redoubling his efforts and trying to pass the same law under the guise of tackling terrorism and extremism. For our safety! 1984 anyone?
This should be the last straw, dare I say that we were better off under Blair, I know I’m not voting for anything or anyone that supports censorship under the guise of protection. I will vote for anything or anyone that gets this idiot out of office. How is he even in office? He’s a posh wanker who is so out of touch with the realities of the common man that it isn’t even funny. Only under our current government could you be arrested for comments you made over the internet… We’re a country slowly being stripped of our freedoms.

scumbag cameron

I hear many people say write to your MP but is there really any point when they don’t address the question you’re asking, skirt around it and treat you like an idiot. If your local MP is conservative there’s no fucking point putting pen to paper because why would they concern themselves with opinions of the unwashed masses? Once they have your vote they cease to give a fuck about your opinion entirely. The next election cannot come around fast enough. I mean voting conservative is great if you’re middle class/upper class and have plenty of money but if you’re not either of those things you might as well grab the nearest phallic object and sodomize yourself with it repeatedly because that’s basically what you’re doing by voting for these  people.

A lot of people wonder why my generation are uninterested in politics and for the first time in my life I can say I understand it. What’s the point of playing a losing game? You vote for nationalists you get Nazis, you vote for conservatives you get the beginnings of a totalitarian regime, you vote for Liberal Democrats you get political impotence. Who is left to vote for that actually has a chance of winning. I wonder if the Monster Raving Looney Party are still on ballot papers?

Sorry, ranting a little bit there. No, I’m not sorry. I’m genuinely pissed off. They’re doing this because ‘hurr durr extremism’ but I’m pretty sure our nations security services were doing just fine dealing with it before someone had the bright idea to censor the last bastion of free press. This whole censorship idea is unnecessary and frankly disgusting. They are basically censoring contrary opinions and as nasty and as much as I disagree with them I will defend these assholes rights to express them. If we allow this then when does it stop? How far do these powers reach?
How long will it be before we cannot express our disdain against for our government before being thrown into work camps or re-education. Does it end before or after we live in a police state resembling George Orwell’s classic 1984?

wanker
Somebody send this idiot a copy of that book and make him read to see if he can draw the parallels that everyone else has. Back to what I was previously saying. If someone posts an extremist viewpoint on Reddit or 4chan then will big brother block these websites too? These powers are a little far-reaching for my liking, maybe they’ll even use these new powers to silence political opponents or who knows. All I know is that this cannot be allowed to happen for the sake of the freedom and my country. I hope that maybe the EU will step in a do something about this because in a word, this is just wrong. The quicker this Stalin wannabe is kicked out of office the better or I might end up in a gulag for this post.

I thought I saw a tear roll down Kim-Jong-Un’s cheek.
