I’ve seen many a post all over the internet and social networks, these posts usually go on about how this year will be better than the last. I see these every year, each year it irritates me a little more. It pains me to see the same thing posted at, both, the beginning and end of any one year. The first being about the new year being full of opportunity and good fortune and the second being about how the year was shitty. Doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result, isn’t that the definition of insanity?
You haven’t realized yet? These ‘good fortunes’ don’t come about of their own accord. Like anything they require a degree of work to bring them to fruition. Unless you’re prepared to put that work in then please refrain from that second post consisting of ranting and bitching because things didn’t go your way. People irritate me, misanthropy duh. Talking of the New Year, how are those resolutions coming on? Not at all? That’s why you’ll never see me making resolution. Why waste your breath on something you have no intention of sticking to once your blood alcohol level returns to normal. Personally if I have any intention of changing something you won’t know about it until the change has already begun. I remember reading somewhere that telling somebody you’re going to do something elicits the same chemical response as actually carrying out the task. I’ve never quite understood that behavior and I probably never will.
